01

Droppings

Droppings are the most common sign of rodent activity in your property, mice droppings are usually black and around the same size as a grain of rice.

Common places to find mice droppings are in loft insulation or underneath kitchen cupboards.

Rat droppings are larger ( 12-18mm ), black and spindle shaped.

02

Suspicious holes

Holes around your property may not only be causing a draft, they could be allowing pests free access to your food, water and central heating.

If a hole is being used by a rodent there will normally be smear marks around it due to dirt rubbing off the rodents fur as it goes in and out.

Strange noises in the loft

Most homeowners only realise they have a pest issue when they start hearing noises in the loft such as scratching or gnawing. These noises should not be ignored as a rodent could be causing expensive damage to wiring or pipework.

04

Burrows

Rat burrows can be found in dense shrubbery, grass verges and flower beds. They are around 2-4 inches at the entrance and will be clear of leaves and debris if in use.

If you suspect you have rat burrows on your property feel free to contact us and we can confirm if it is a rat burrow and does not belong to a non target species such as water voles.
